A senior Hamas figure who was detained in administrative detention. Among other things, he is suspected of being responsible for connecting a suicide bomber to senior Hamas figure Ibrahim Hamed for the double suicide attack on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem on December 1, 2001. The attack murdered 11 and injured about 180. He served long periods of many years in administrative detention because no evidence was obtained against him.
