He was arrested with his brother Abdullah in August 2023 on suspicion of weapons and terrorism offenses, in connection with their involvement in the murder of Shai Nigarkar and his son Aviad Nir HYD in Huwara village in August 2023. His brother was fully involved in the attack and he himself was suspected of aiding and abetting other offenses but was released before being trialed. Their home was destroyed by the army.
